As night falls over the rugged peaks and soaring ridges of the Huayhash trekking route, I captured a magical moment of Laguna Carhuacocha. The stars twinkled above in a breathtaking display, and the Milky Way stretched out above the mountain peaks like a shimmering ribbon of light.

I was up almost the whole night to photograph this incredible view. Believe me, it was freezing cold up there, but so worth it! I‘ve never seen the Milky Way as clear as up there. I took almost 30 photographs that night and put them together in Lightroom to create this image.
